Next week, the first 2022 release of Insite software is slated to begin. Version 8.1.21 replaces the End of Year (EOY) version, 8.1.17. We strongly recommend reviewing the release notes for this upcoming release, as they provide details on the comprehensive fixes and improvements. The notes can be conveniently accessed from the “?” icon inside of Insite. This launches the Insite Help window, where the Release Notes link on the left side of the screen is located.
ASI advises that our software partners stay current by always scheduling the latest release of Insite. This allows your financial institution to take advantage of new features, corrections, or regulations in a timely manner, while managing this change through small, incremental updates. ASI highly recommends against running on software that is more than two versions behind the current release. As a rule of thumb, any outdated software installation become more difficult to support as they age. For scheduling assistance, please reach out to Chris Lukes directly at email@example.com.
The Automated Systems, Inc. (ASI) Release Management Team (RMT) offers automatic update scheduling. Many of our software partners currently take advantage of this service, by simply indicating a desired day and time for updates. The RMT can easily perform updates to those banks on a recurring cycle. Each bank has a designated representative who is sent email notifications indicating when their update is scheduled, when it is started, and when it is completed. If your bank is not currently on the automatic update schedule and would like to join it, please contact Chris Lukes directly at firstname.lastname@example.org to get started.
As a general reminder for all update events, ensure that iTeller and iDoc scanning workstations remain in a powered-on state during the update event timeframe. If they are powered down during the update, these workstations will need to download the update and install it once they are powered up again. This may take anywhere from 15-30 minutes, depending on network speeds. If an attempt to log in to Insite is made before the update has completed, the update itself may fail. If that happens, or it does not finish in the given time, please contact Insite Support at InsiteSupport@asiweb.com. It is also important to note that all users need to log out of Insite and remain logged out during the update. If users remain logged in, or do not sign off properly, this can delay the update or cause issues where workstations and servers don’t update as they should.
