Beneficial Aspects of an Annual Conference

Many conferences, meetings, and gatherings have taken place virtually over the last year. While virtual conferences can still be effective, we continue to value in-person conferences because there are many benefits that come with being face-to-face with coworkers and customers. You gain many different experiences, and you are able to build effective relationships.

A primary benefit to hosting an annual conference is the networking opportunities. You can meet and collaborate with current customers, potential customers, and sponsors. This is a great way to build a professional connection and a long-term relationship going forward. Because we are constantly talking on the phone with one another, it provides us with a whole different environment when we are allowed the opportunity to converse with our customers and sponsors in-person and learn more about them.

In addition to networking opportunities, another reason to host an Annual Conference is to personally present your work and discuss how to find better solutions to your customers’ challenges with them. Like many of our conferences in the past, this year’s Annual Conference will consist of multiple breakout sessions that will introduce new products and features that our customers will be able to learn and inquire about in-person. There will also be general sessions that will provide an overview and outlook that is universal to all bank customers. This year, we will be providing a general session for “The State of Information Security that will be available for all banks. We also have highly anticipated scheduled demos, forums, and a networking reception to look forward to as well.

Lastly, sponsors are a large part of what makes our conferences successful. Allowing our customers to meet our key business partners and learn about new options is another great way of networking and building professional relationships. They also help keep the Annual Conference affordable and exciting. Depending on the sponsorship purchased, we allow our sponsors their own breakout sessions and presentations to the attendees. This allows our sponsors the opportunity of showcasing their products and services that they believe would be beneficial to our customers as well as building long-term relationships.

In my first full-time role as a Marketing Coordinator, the number of new responsibilities and roles seemed overwhelming. One of the biggest responsibilities I have had the opportunity to work on is the planning and execution of ASI’s 34th Insite Annual Conference that will take place at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Lincoln, Nebraska, on October 12-14, 2021. Networking opportunities, presenting our solutions with customers in-person, and including sponsors are just three out of many reasons why hosting an Annual Conference can be beneficial to small, medium, or large sized companies. I have been given a great opportunity to assist in executing our Annual Conference that will take place this October, and the experiences and takeaways I have learned throughout these past couple months are immeasurable. What used to look so overwhelming is now all coming together and making sense as we continue to approach this year’s conference. I believe every company can greatly benefit from hosting an annual conference to bring their customers together and start building those long-lasting relationships.
