MetaFrame Password Manager 2.5 supports an even broader range of customer environments, extending the enterprise single sign-on capabilities of earlier versions.

More Authentication Options
MetaFrame Password Manager 2.5 supports an expanded list of operating systems and device-based authentication systems, providing heterogeneous environments with even greater choices, including support for Novell authentication and certificate-based smart cards.

• Novell Authentication
  MetaFrame Password Manager 2.5 now supports Novell Directory Services (NDS) and Novell eDirectory for primary network authentication, allowing Novell customers to enjoy the benefits of MetaFrame Password Manager 2.5 in their environments.

• Certificate-based Smart Cards
  IT managers can now use smart cards in place of text passwords, allowing organizations requiring the highest level of security, such as government organizations, to use these device-based authentication systems with MetaFrame Password Manager 2.5.

Localized End-user Interface
The end-user component is now available in English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese, allowing more users to work in their native language. To simplify setup, the user interface is installed based on the user’s locale and the default operating system language.

Enhanced Application Support
Citrix has improved support for ActiveX controls, Java scripts and Java applets. Windows and Web applications with logon or change password dialogues – that include drop-down menus – are also now supported. This allows MetaFrame Password Manager to automatically select the appropriate value from the drop-down list instead of the user manually selecting the value.

Improved interoperability, performance and scalability
MetaFrame Password Manager offers greater performance and scalability in a wide range of platform environments. As the workforce becomes more mobile, IT managers must also provide an infrastructure for users to switch easily between devices without being disconnected from their access session, and to log on once to all applications accesses during that session.

• Greater Support for SmoothRoaming
  Doctors who move between workstations in a hospital, office workers who move between wireless networks, manufacturing workers who need to access information as they roam the factory floor – now they can all log on once and switch applications while on the move. Citrix SmoothRoaming allows users to switch easily between devices as they move around. MetaFrame Password Manager 2.5 provides enterprise single sign-on functionality to applications used during a single access session, further enhancing the SmoothRoaming experience.

• MetaFrame Presentation Server Policy Enforcement
  IT managers can now enable MetaFrame Password Manager on a per-user basis and specify the user’s synchronization point, allowing for staged implementations or implementations to a subset of users.
