Version 2.2 offers Outlook Synchronization and More
Citrix MetaFrame Secure Access Manager 2.2 provides new features that enable workers to gain secure access over the Web to the information they need whether they are working inside or outside their corporate networks. This newest version of MetaFrame Secure Access Manager provides mobile users with secure remote access for Microsoft Outlook synchronization and enables IT administrators the flexibility to choose between using an existing portal, intranets and Web pages as user interfaces in addition to the MetaFrame Secure Access Manager “access center” — whichever best fits their enterprise needs.
Synchronization for Microsoft Outlook.
MetaFrame Secure Access Manager 2.2 provides greater levels of mobility by enabling roaming workers to synchronize a locally installed Outlook application, whether connected over the Web or within the enterprise. This allows users to work with Outlook for email, calendar, tasks and contacts when they can’t be connected to a Microsoft Exchange server. Outlook synchronization is seamlessy enabled and secured when connectivity becomes available again via MetaFrame Secure Access Manager’s SSL encrypted communications.
Securing alternative user interfaces.
MetaFrame Secure Access Manager 2.2 now supports “alternative user interfaces.” This powerful new feature allows administrators to securely integrate existing intranets, Web pages and enterprise portals such as SAP Enterprise Portal, IBM WebSphere, and Microsoft SharePoint into their access infrastructure while still taking advantage of MetaFrame Secure Access Manager’s role-based access control, MetaFrame Presentation Server integration, and SSL-based secure connectivity. This new functionality also gives customers greater flexibility and allows organizations to leverage past IT investments while defining and executing on their overall access strategy.
