Social Media Tips for Community Banks | Part 3

 Part 3: Best Practices
& Inspiration

In our last posts, we've discussed choosing a platform and developing a plan for your bank’s social media strategy. This week, we’ll look at some banks who are already utilizing social media through Facebook and Twitter. Take a look at their profiles for some inspiration on what types of posts you could implement onto your social media profiles . . .

Community Banks Using Facebook

Missouri Bank | Facebook Page Example

This is a great example of an active and engaging Facebook Page that is regularly updated, contains a variety of interesting posts, has tons of photos, and even has built in YouTube and Twitter tabs on the left side of the page.

Community Banks Using Twitter

Peoples State Bank | Twitter Page Example

Peoples State Bank has a great presence on Twitter, complete with a slick branded background on their profile page. They post messages about topics ranging from banking tips to community messages. My favorite is a message warning followers to “Be careful driving tonight. Hearing things are a little slick in Wisconsin today.” Definitely shows they are thoughtful of those in their community – you don’t get messages like this from a large bank.
