In our last post, we discussed how the first step in your social media strategy should be to determine which platforms to participate in, whether it be Facebook, Twitter, or other social media outlets. The next step is to map out a specific plan that outlines when you'll be posting messages and what topics you'll be posting about . . .

Online Banking Services: How Aware Are Your Customers?

In a recent article post from bankinnovation.net, they bring up the issue of gender divide and knowledge about online banking. In this article, they discuss which gender seems to know more about their banks online banking options. The findings are that it is pretty equal between the sexes as to which knows more about what their bank offers. Though this seems like an unusual subject, it might actually have some merit, not only in the gender side of it, but in the 'how much do your customers know about your online banking services' side of it. This shouldn't be a matter of gender, but more of a matter of communicating your services to your customers.

Our last blog was about tips for creating an effective bank website. Along with this same theme, how you brand your bank is of utmost importance. You want your image and slogan to be clear and concise, not one that will be vague and like other financial institutions in your area: You need to stand out!

There is a lot of competition between community banks and larger, national banks. The larger banks may offer products and services that community banks do not, or they have more convenient locations. Depending on the type of bank the consumer is looking for, you will want your website to give them the most information as to why you're the best choice. Below are several ways in which to make your community banking website more effective:

There is a woman from a small town in Ohio who just turned 100 years old; a milestone in and of itself. Even more amazing is that this woman, June Gregg, has had the same savings account that her father opened for her in 1913 . . .
